Stonebridge Country Club: Membership Magazine

The May 2019 edition of the Stonebridge SCENE membership magazine was the initial first step into bringing the club a more structured layout and an elevated sense of identity in comparison to the editions of the magazines they had prior. The project started with just wireframes for the design company the club had been working with but evolved into the entire magazine to be designed by one person.

I worked with the Director of Marketing & Membership to complete the project, and they reported any edits other staff members had, as well as design recommendations. We didn’t want to overwhelm the staff & members with a drastic change to the publication, so we continued the use of saturated stock images for the event advertisements but added a stylized look for the typography to set it apart from the rest of the magazine. Ads were placed more strategically throughout, cleaning up the overall look of the magazine. More stylized editorial grids were also added for image heavy spreads & pages to continue to provide more visually engaging layouts.

Stonebridge Country Club: Membership Calendar

The membership calendar also received a newer, elevated look. The grid for the calendar was made more consistent, and box sizes for dates increased. Since the clientele/members of the club are on the older side, we found a larger, easier to read font to use for all listed events, making them much easier to read. We also consulted with the printer and were able to increase the size of the calendar for no extra cost, allowing for the design to be opened up more and even easier to read than before.  Appropriately themed, more sophisticated stock imagery was chosen for each month to complete the overall look of the calendar. The club information at the end of the calendar was also reorganized to be more easily read & understood for the membership.

There is also a matching “Save the Date” that was given to the membership for upcoming major events. The design was mostly set, but the typography was cleaned up, and the logo was made more easily readable.
